The second half of the six episodes I was sent are a vast improvement on the first in terms of story, dialogue, and overall feel. Gotham Knights season 1 episode 1 kicks off with a ton of action and is a great start to the series, despite its few flaws. It should be noted that the screeners I was given state visual effects are not complete yet, so these could improve. That said, there are some visual missteps here, but not many. The effects are never going to be comparable to massive feature films. With any television show, they are limited to the budget, which is a little unfortunate for super hero series like this. Don’t get me wrong, the kids do a great job as well, but Collins is very talented and has a lot of experience, which allows him to fully embrace Harvey Dent’s personality from the very start. A group of delinquent teenagers are blamed for the murder as they have been set up by a mysterious person. The series kicks off with Bruce Wayne having been murdered and the fact that he was Batman revealed to the world. While it starts off a little rocky, the series ultimately finds its footing and delivers Easter Eggs, mystery, and a lot of fun. Gotham Knights focuses on a group of misfit kids, but also on the evolution of fan favorite villain Two-Face, AKA Harvey Dent (played by the talented Misha Collins). Batman is dead and Gotham is ready to take vengeance on those that are to blame. Gotham Knights fully embraces the dark and gritty side of Gotham.
